Jobs were hard. A rule was that everyone including men must work. Many people died from diseases. Everyone had a job to do ,some people were slaves,they grew tobacco to sell. Over the first winter over 80 people died. Water was bad to drink.   James town was named after King James1. Punishments were very cruel.  Some people who didn’t  follow the rules either got hung or dunked at the dunking hole.

Henry Hudson

On June of 1611 England hired Hudson to find the north west passage. He set off on a ship and was never seen again. What I think happened to Henry Hudson is that he got really  cold and froze to death.                                    Henry Hudsons ship
